“The Party’s Over” in New Mad Men Teaser

This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

AMC has released a new 30-second teaser in anticipation of the final seven episodes debuting in April.

For many, Mad Men has been one of the chief examples of why some consider the modern era to be a golden age of television. An extravagantly produced period piece following the life of Madison Avenue ad men in the 1960s and early 1970s, it’s spun a web of critical acclaim that, since its 2007 debut, has included no fewer than 15 Emmys, four Golden Globes and countless other accolades. Put succinctly, it’s about as good get as you get without being Breaking Bad. All fantastic things must come to an end however, and this April AMC will be bringing the beloved series to a close by airing its final seven episodes.

In preparation for that, the network has released a new teaser giving viewers their first glimpse of the show since the first half of season seven came a to a close last year. The teaser, which is entitles “The Party’s Over” and runs for 30 seconds, combines snippets from the coming episodes into an out-of-context montage playing out to Diana Ross’s 1975 song Love Hangover. The characters featured in the trailer include Don Draper (obviously), Pete Campbell, Peggy Olson, Megan Draper, Sally Draper, Betty Francis, Roger Sterling, Joan Harris and a clutch of the usual suspects from Sterling Cooper & Partners.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead.

As random as some of the stuff in the teaser might be, it still reveals a few solid things about the upcoming episode. For one, Jessica Pare’s Megan Draper will most likely be returning, something that was arguably up in the air after she and Don officially called it quits on their marriage in the first half of the season. Other things that seem to be progressing are Pete Campbell’s baldness and January Jones almost intangible ability to give a stare so cold it freezes you down to the soul. The last seven episodes of Mad Men will begin airing on April 5th.
