WorldWinner has announced a deal with FremantleMedia Enterprises to bring The Price Is Right to its online gaming service.

WorldWinner, an online casual gaming company that offers both free and pay-to-play competitions, now holds exclusive rights to the “online cash competition version” of the popular game show. The new game is expected to launch in late summer 2008, and will be available via WorldWinner and its partner sites, including AOL Games, GSN.com, MSN Games and Pogo. The agreement follows a similar 2007 deal which saw the company bring Family Feud, another long-running FME game show, to its service.

The Price Is Right is one of the longest-running game shows, yet it continues to add modern touches to maintain its popularity,” said WorldWinner President Peter Blacklow. “WorldWinner is proud to be part of the latest transformation of the game show into an online cash competition version. Most of our players undoubtedly grew up watching The Price Is Right and we’re pleased to allow them the opportunity to experience the thrill of competing in their favorite game show from the comfort of their own homes.”

Debuting in 1956, The Price Is Right is one of the most well-established fixtures of American television culture today. After an initial cancellation in 1965, the show was brought back in 1972 and has aired uninterrupted since. Longtime host Bob Barker, who took the helm in September 1972, retired in June of 2007 and was replaced by current host Drew Carey.
