Ubisoft Scouring the Web for Assassin’s Creed Loremaster

Ubisoft is looking for talented and passionate writers to work on its upcoming Assassin’s Creed encyclopedia. Candidates will need to know the Assassin’s Creed universe like the back of their hands, and be able to write insightful articles about its people, places and things. Ubisoft has also made it clear that this is a paying gig, rather than an effort to get fans to make the encyclopedia for free. (Link)

Gearbox Pushes Back Duke

Against all odds, Duke Nukem Forever is finally coming out, thanks to the efforts of Gearbox Studios. Unfortunately, somewhere along the way, Duke let his attention wander – maybe he needed to get more gum, or a stack of ones for the strip club – meaning that he won’t be arriving until June, rather than early May like originally planned. Microsoft Plans to Bring PC Gaming to the People

An internal Microsoft video that made its way online has revealed the company’s plans for PC gaming, and they probably aren’t going to make too many PC gamers happy. The video show Microsoft targeting the casual gamer with its efforts, and working hard to integrate avatars and social networking. Core gamers do get a look in, but it’s rather fleeting, and not the robust support of the platform they wanted. Hit the link for a video. (Link)

Short Film Shows the Dangers of Adorable Robots

A new short film by Oscar nominated filmmaker Ruairi Robinson gives a grim, but adorable, look at what robot ownership might be like. All Blinky wanted to do was be friends with Andy Neville, but his boredom, mixed with his anger and frustration over his parents arguing all the time, leaves the robot with a few “issues.” I don’t want to give away too much, but things do not end well.
