These Pokemon Were Designed by H.P. Lovecraft

After looking at these re-imagined Pokemon, I’m never going to sleep ever again. Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Bulbasaur R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn.

The newer generations in Nintendo’s hit Pokemon series have brought with them some very strange new ‘mons (I’m looking at you, Nosepass) but for the most part the franchise has retained its cute, kid-friendly look from start to finish.

Naturally, artists love to change that. I’m personally a fan of the Pokemon a la traditional Japanese paintings collection, myself – but what we see here is something completely different. These aren’t traditional Pokemon; these aren’t necessarily realistic Pokemon; they are just really, really freaky Pokemon.

This was originally spotted (and the full image can be seen) over at Reddit Gaming – does anyone know where this originally comes from? I’m curious to see the artist’s take on some of the other Pokemon… in a morbid sort of way, of course.
