Think GTA 6’s price will be $100? You can bet on it with Kalshi

GTA 6 is going to be an absolute behemoth of a game that both fans of the franchise and even the average Joe who doesn’t put in the grinding hours will likely be playing. However, with video game prices on the rise, industry experts are suggesting we could be paying a $100 entry point for Rockstar’s next open-world experience.

While no one wants to see the $100 mark being broken for a base game with no additional extras, if you want to recoup some of that cost, you can put a wager on GTA 6’s price using prediction market giant Kalshi.

If you haven’t heard of Kalshi, it takes a different approach compared to that of your run-of-the-mill sportsbooks or betting apps by being a Designated Contract Market (DCM) rather than a gambling platform.

You ‘trade’ instead of ‘gamble’ on outcomes, but you’ll either come out winning or losing just like you would via traditional betting.

While some major organizations are pushing back on the idea, it’s an industry that’s certainly booming with Kalshi recently hitting a $2bn valuation, and competitor Polymarket also reaping the rewards of getting in on the technology early.

At the time of writing, there has been just over $73k placed on what GTA 6’s price will be, with a whopping 75% chance it will be ‘over $70’, and 53% for ‘over $80’. This strongly suggests that most are listening to the experts and looking at the video game price trends, with companies like Nintendo already dishing out first-party titles at $80.

Whether that $100 figure will be hit remains to be seen, but it’s pretty apparent that most people are expecting at least an $80 price point.

Another hotly debated topic on GTA 6 is when the game will be released, and yes, you guessed it, you can ‘bet’ on it via Kalshi.

The aptly named ‘GTA 6 release date?’ market offers up a plethora of different choices for when you think the game will launch, and has seen an astonishing $600k placed on the outcomes.

If you’re invested in GTA 6 and fancy a bit of fun, or want to try and get some funds in place to actually be able to purchase it when it finally launches, you can check out the aforementioned Kalshi markets and get predicting for yourself.
