Digital food chain uWink launches an in-store gaming platform to entertain customers.

uWink Inc., an expanding operator of interactive restaurants, is introducing a new digital multiplayer game platform that allows for restaurant-wide competition. The first available title to be offered in the restaurants, uWink Trivia Live, is a multiple-choice trivia game featuring individual head-to-head and team competition. Played using uWink’s proprietary tabletop touchscreen terminals, the scores are projected on the walls of the restaurant in real time.

Future availbable titles include include uWink Scene Investigation (a CSI-inspired investigation game), bowling and bingo mashup Xingo and the “find the differences” title Picture Perfect. uWink’s software alllows for a myriad of in-person tournaments and will soon accommodate third party developers.

Nolan Bushnell, uWink’s Chief Executive Officer and founder of Chuck E’ Cheese, said, “We are very excited about the successful launch of our real-time, multiplayer game platform; not only does it increase face-to-face social interactivity and fun, it also sets the stage for restaurant-to-restaurant game play, and we look forward to extending the platform to online game play as well.”
