Where to meet Yahtzee, Bob, Russ, and Victor Lucas at EGLX

For everyone headed to EGLX, Canada’s premiere celebration of all things gaming, Escapist Magazine Volume Two is going to be on the ground. If you want to meet us in person and talk about the relaunched site, what you’re playing, watching, or obsessing over these days, you’ll get your chance in Toronto at the Metro Toronto Convention Center from Friday, October 26th to Sunday, October 28th.

Our big event takes place on Saturday, October 27th at 3 p.m. on the Bell Main Stage. Zero Punctuation’s Yahtzee Croshaw and Pregame Discharge’s Lyle Rath of Destructoid are going head-to-head in a potentially legendary face-off that will, if nothing else, be gloriously absurd. Yahtzee and Lyle will match wits in a trivia challenge cage match refereed by famed improv group the Sex T-Rex.

Bob “Movie Bob” Chipman of The Big Picture will be on the floor as well throughout the weekend and hanging out at Escapist Movie Night on Saturday, October 27th at 7 p.m. in Room 713A. Both Bob and Yahtzee will be at Movie Night doing live commentary on vintage episodes of Zero Punctuation, The Big Picture, and other classic Escapist videos. Not only that but we’ll also premiere a brand new video series that night.

Russ Pitts, our Editor-in-Chief, and EPN’s Victor Lucas will also be at the show and you can see them at the (Re)Launching Escapist Magazine panel alongside Yahtzee and Bob. If you want to know how the sausage is made here, swing by and ask your burning questions about all things Escapist Magazine Volume Two. We will have (we hope!) a very early look at the new video feature Recon: with Victor Lucas. That’s happening on Sunday, October 28th at 12 p.m. in Room 713A. The panel will be followed at 1 p.m. by a meet and greet autograph signing.

If you can’t make it the first meet and greet, a second will be happening at 4 p.m. on Sunday in Room 706. Russ will also be on hand at the EGLX booth throughout the whole show if you want to say hello.

And if you need EGLX tickets, get them right here.

Our Scoring System:

Escapist Magazine reviews products based on how well they achieve their overall artistic vision, and what lasting benefit they provide to humanity. Relatively enjoyable products may score low on our scale; conversely products might score high even if they're aren't much fun.

  1. Undeniably unfinished, broken, or devoid of value.
  2. Complete, but with inexcusable flaws.
  3. Suitable for a hardcore fan; otherwise few redeeming virtues.
  4. Some bright spots, but overall a failure of vision.
  5. Gratifying, but has little lasting value.
  6. A strong entry in its category limited by significant flaws.
  7. An excellent experience un-diminished by occasional flaws.
  8. Wide appeal. Minor flaws that can be off-putting.
  9. Very nearly perfect.
  10. Perfect. An undeniable classic.
