We’ve all fallen in love with a specific car from one of your favorite movies, be it the AMC Pacer from Wayne’s World or James Bond’s Aston Martin. Both of these cars are iconic and make you immediately think of the movies that featured them. So today we take you through some of the coolest cars to come from your favorite movies.
In Goldfinger James Bond, played by Sean Connery, drives his 1963 Aston Martin DB5. This helped to make the Aston Martin the car that everyone wanted.
The 1968 movie The Love Bug featured the 1962 Volkswagen Beetle. This beautiful piece of German engineering was the car of the decade, maybe the car of the century.
The 1968 flick Bullitt featured Steve McQueen driving around San Francisco in the 1968 Ford Mustang 390 GT. The car figures prominently in the ten minute long chase scene between it and a 1968 Dodge Charger 440 Magnum. Definitely a must watch if you like good things.
Another Ford Mustang enters the mix, this time around it’s in the 2000 film Gone in Sixty Seconds. This film features a heavily modified 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback, if only every car from that year looked exactly like this piece of art.
1979 brought with it the Mel Gibson film Mad Max, the film featured a very mad Mel Gibson driving a customized 1974 Ford Falcon XB Interceptor. I don’t know why he was so mad if he got to drive around in such a powerful machine.
The main character of Quentin Tarantino’s film Death Proof was the 1970 Chevy Nova. This wasn’t your stock Nova, this was a heavily armored death machine made for overly aggressive driving.
Burt Reynolds starred in the 1977 flick Smokey and the Bandit, but the real star was his 1977 Pontiac Trans Am. At the beginning of the film he purchases the pretty car and it stuck with him throughout the series of Bandit movies.
Last, but not least, we give you the 1982 Delorean DMC-12 that was the main character of the Back to the Future films. This stainless steel car was able to travel through time, much more than we can say about every other car on this list.
