Gamers always look forward to the game information and reveals that come out of E3, and this year is no different. As always, there will be unexpected reveals at the show, but we’d love to see these eight games up on stage at the show.

Borderlands 3
Yeah, it’s been a while since we got the confirmation that Borderlands 3 is real, but after the early tech demo that the company showed off at GDC earlier this year, we want to see more. There have been some teases, including a Vault symbol and the word “Promethea” in graffiti found in Battleborn‘s Attikus and the Thrall Rebellion DLC. Now it’s time for Gearbox to show us what it’s been working on. Hopefully, E3 is where they do.
Crackdown 3
It’s been seven years since Crackdown 2 hit the Xbox 360, and it’s been three years since Crackdown 3 was announced at E3 2014. On May 1, a post the official Crackdown Twitter account said that “Soon that secrecy will be no more.” Odds are that’s going to be at Microsoft’s E3 press conference. The Xbox One exclusive (and Play Anywhere) title will retain the open world structure of previous games in the series, and is slated to come out later this year.
State of Decay 2
Another Xbox One and Play Anywhere title, State of Decay 2 will let you team up with up to three friends to try and survive the zombie apocalypse. However, it is not a persistent world or an MMO. It’s drop-in, drop-out, and you don’t even have to be online to play. State of Decay 2 was announced at E3 last year, and it’s supposed to launch before the end of this year, which means we should see much more at E3 this year.
Days Gone
Sony also has a zombie apocalypse title in the works. Days Gone closed out the company’s press conference at E3 last year, showing off its open world. Developed by Sony Bend, the studio behind the Syphon Filter franchise and Vita title Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Days Gone casts you as a biker trying to survive in a world overrun by zombies called “Freakers.” Last year, we saw gameplay that featured the use of objects in the environment to slow down and hinder the zombies while your character tried to escape unscathed. Hopefully, this year we’ll see more, and get a release date as well.
Destiny 2
The sequel to Bungie’s MMO shooter is coming on September 8, 2017, and this time it’s on PC in addition to PS4 and Xbox One. The game will follow the same pattern as its predecessor, with plenty of DLC planned. We expect to see new weapons, new abilities, and more in the sequel, but we expect to see familiar characters from the first game. Cayde-6, Ikora Rey and Commander Zavala will be there to give you direction, and we should hear much more later this week when Bungie has scheduled another reveal.
God of War
The newest entry in the God of War series is simply calling itself God of War, and it casts Kratos in a snowy Norse world. The big addition so far is that Kratos is accompanied by his son, Atreus, who he is teaching to fight. Fans of the series are apparently pretty excited about the game, as the trailer from last year’s E3 conference has become the most-watched video on the official PlayStation YouTube channel, with over 17 million views. There’s still no word on when God of War might release, with some estimates saying it could be as soon as September, with others saying it could be in 2018.
Cyberpunk 2077
If there’s one game that PC gamers want to see at E3 this year more than any other, it’s probably Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt Red, after its successes with the Witcher franchise, is now venturing into the world of science fiction. Details are scant right now, but we do know that it’s based on the 90’s-era pen-and-paper RPG Cyberpunk 2020. All we’ve seen so far is the teaser trailer above, and it just made us want to know more. Hopefully, we’ll get some more info at E3 next month.
Middle Earth: Shadow of War
When Middle Earth: Shadow of War was announced in February, gamers got excited, and it’s no wonder why. Shadow of Mordor was one of the best games of 2014, and its sequel looks to be bringing more of what made that game great. Talion and Celebrimbor are back, and they’re taking the fight to Sauron. The Nemesis System has been expanded to include strangholds, and you’ll take them over in your bid to wrest control of mordor. Middle Earth: Shadow of War will be out on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on August 22, but we’re likely to see much more from the game at E3 next month.
