8 Heroes in Comics That Celebrate Cinco de Mayo

Crackerjack, a Honduran hero from the comic Astro City, was once a pickpocket. He became part of a group led by Angeline Marietta Salvotini Thriller, which was known as the Seven Seconds.

Wildcat, or Yolanda Montez to her friends, was the product of experiments by the mad gynecologist Dr. Benjamin Love. Her mother was given experimental drugs during her pregnancy, which led to the birth of Yolanda Montez.

Gangbuster, or Jose Delgado, was a skilled boxer and High School teacher. When Lex Luthor attempted to recruit gangs in Metropolis Gangbuster was there to try and stop teenagers from joining the gangs.

Angela Del Toro took up the helm of White Tiger from her uncle Hector Ayala, the original White Tiger. She, like her uncle, works with Daredevil to keep the streets clean. She’s also a Federal Agent so when she isn’t in costume she’s still a force to be reckoned with.

Hummingbird, hails from Mexico and may just be the reincarnation of the Aztec God of War Huitzilopotchli. Either way she’s still considered a demigod. Her powers allow her to manipulate people’s emotions and detect other people’s thoughts and feelings.

Thornn (Lucia Callesantos) and Feral (Maria Callasantos) are mutant siblings that escaped from Morlock clutches. They’ve been members of multiple organizations, chief of which is X-Force.

Iara Dos Santos was once an average Brazilian girl, but that was until she started having some very different cravings. She soon transformed into a Were-Shark, known as Shark Girl.

Through her transformation she has superhuman strength, speed and the ability to smell blood in water.

Also, her book sales double during Shark Week.

Victor Alvarez, isn’t the first to take upon the mantle of Power Man, actually he’s the third to use the name. Though Victor may be the son of the Dominican supervillain named Shades, he’s become quite the hero. He’s a member of the unofficial teen superhero group known as The Chosen.
