8 Nuclear Monsters That Want To Eat Your Face

The 28th anniversary of the infamous Chernobyl Disaster was this past weekend, sparking many reminders about the dangers of radiation. But then again, gamers are no stranger to the horrors of nuclear fallout, as judging by these examples…


The Metro series featured many a creepy critter. The Watchers (also known as Howlers) are definitely no exception, being mutated animals of an unknown origin that hunt in packs across the nuclear wastes of Russia’s former cities.

The Fallout series is no stranger to animals wracked by insane levels of radiation. The yao guai bears (Hah! I just got that joke!) were just one of the many deadly foes you could fight in Fallout 3.


The classic game Wasteland had many beasts affected by nuclear fallout, such as these adorably cute Nuke Pooches. Don’t you want to just give that little puppy a hug?


The Snorks from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series may be hilariously named, but don’t let that fool you – these horribly mutated former humans are fast and deadly.


The “Demons” from Metro 2033 are large, powerful predators that haunt the radioactive surface, descending upon hapless humans and other animals in a flurry of claws and gnashing fangs.


The poor feral ghouls of Fallout 3 are irradiated zombies that have lost any and all of their humanity, and now only seek to tear apart anything they encounter.


Another monstrous and terrifying beast from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, the Bloodsucker is by far the worst enemy you’ll encounter in the wilderness of Chernobyl. Incredibly fast and tough, these monsters are best avoided whenever possible unless you can bring some serious firepower into play.

Oh, did I mention they can also turn invisible at will? Cause it can totally turn invisible at will.


Who can forget the biggest and most famous radioactive monster of them all? Godzilla is a prehistoric monster awakened by careless nuclear tests, which end up powering him up into a gigantic city destroying beast.
