Aeon Flux creator and director Peter Chung has been tapped to create an original graphic novel based on SouthPeak’s World War Two-based stealth/action game Velvet Assassin.

Chung will join with the Velvet Assassin team at SouthPeak to craft a story about the “early years” of Violette Summer and how she came to join the war effort as an Allied spy and assassin. The 15-page graphic novel will be available as an exclusive bonus for fans who purchase the game at GameStop.

Along with Aeon Flux, Chung’s previous work include the “Matriculated” segment of the Animatrix DVD as well The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury, an animated movie that picks up the tale of the Pitch Black anti-hero shortly after the events of the movie. He is currently reported to be working on new, direct-to-video episodes of Aeon Flux.

Velvet Assassin is scheduled for release in April 2009 for the Xbox 360 and PC.
