Indie brawler mashup Bounty Battle is coming to console players. Developer Dark Screen Games and publisher Merge Games announced during Nintendo’s March 17 Indie World showcase that its game, which has been previously announced for PC, will make the jump over to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One this summer. If you can’t tell from the game’s trailer below, the game features a Super Smash Bros. level of crossover fighters from some popular indie titles.
Bounty Battle is also getting a special edition treatment, which includes a guide booklet, a digitally signed fighter art card, some collectible enamel pins featuring some of the game’s original characters, and a collector’s box to hold it all together. A release date for any version of the game has yet to be specified.
Guacamelee!, Dead Cells, Darkest Dungeon, Owlboy, and Axiom Verge are just a few of the games with representation in Bounty Battle. In this 2D fighting game, one-to-four players can choose from more than 20 characters to duke it out with unique abilities, “Minions,” and more on levels inspired from each character’s respective games. Bounty Battle promises more than 10 arenas as well as couch multiplayer, a practice mode, and even a story mode.
Dark Screen and Merge’s indie fighting game first started as a Fig campaign that managed to pull in nearly $10,000 more than its asking goal in 2017.
