Dragon Age: Inquisition Gets Musical in Violinist’s Video

Violinist Lindsey Stirling has released a new video based in the world (and music) of Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Dragon Age: Inquisition landed at retailers yesterday and if all the emerging positive reviews can be believed, the game is the well worth spending 60 dollars and dozens of hours of your free time on. In other words, if other recent BioWare games have left you on the fence about whether or not to pick up the studio’s latest, you can probably put your doubts to rest. That said, maybe you still need a little convincing or even just something to put you in the epic fantasy mood required to enjoy a game like Inquisition. If that’s the case we might have just the ticket.

Said ticket comes in the form of a newly released music video from violinist Lindsey Stirling. The video, simply titled Dragon Age, follows Stirling as she plays her way across a fantasy landscape devastated by the infamous Breach that lies at the center of Inquisition‘s narrative. During the video she also does battle with a ferocious dragon whose fire breath is, apparently, no match for the power of violin music (think of all the knights that could have been saved!).

This, of course, isn’t the first time that Stirling has turned her musical attentions toward the world of video games. She has, in the past, released several other video game covers and tribute videos touching on franchises like Skyrim, Zelda, Halo and Child of Light. Her Dragon Age, in turn, was assembled by the special effects company Everdream. Judging by the rather official looking Inquisition branding at its end, we’re going to go ahead and guess that Electronic Arts was also involved in an official capacity. We’ve reached out to EA to confirm and to Ms. Stirling for more general information about the video.
