dying light 2 update wednesday, march 17 techland trouble

Developer Techland has confirmed that it will provide a new developer update for Dying Light 2 on Wednesday, March 17.

Not much else was revealed in a brief video that the developer released. In it, you can hear a monster screaming, but that’s it. Dying Light 2 has gone through some turbulent development, as Techland has been relatively quiet about the game. In January of last year, the studio explained that the title would no longer hit its initial spring 2020 release and would be delayed until further notice. However, in May, Dying Light 2 was reportedly in its last stretches of development, despite alleged behind-the-scenes problems.

Last month, a new report was published about mismanagement at Techland, with sources saying that the game’s story was allegedly rewritten “six times or so” and that upper management was mistreating employees.

Interestingly enough, the first Dying Light received additional DLC content last July, five years after its original launch, regarding an unreleased game called Hellraid.

Hopefully, next week’s Dying Light 2 update will shed some light on a possible release date. The game is confirmed to be launching on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Techland has also stated that the title will be cross-generational, meaning it will release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S as well.
