Today has certainly been interesting, with numerous little video game news stories popping up here and there. Sadly, we received word that Axiom Verge 2 has been delayed. However, Burger King has a new PlayStation 5 promotion, Apex Legends Champion Edition was announced, and more. Here’s the video game news you might’ve missed on Oct. 13, 2020.

Apex Legends Champion Edition Comes with Everything You Need to Start Off Right

A new, paid version of Apex Legends was announced today, featuring a slew of goodies to get new players started. Titled Apex Legends Champion Edition, this new version will be available in physical format, will cost $39.99, and comes with nine character unlocks, skins, and 1,000 Apex Coins.  Keep in mind that this does not replace the free version you can download digitally, but rather serves as a paid way to get caught up with season 7. It will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC “soon.” Check out the Champion Edition trailer below!

All Rock Band 4 DLC and Instruments Will Work with Next-Gen Systems

The bane of many plastic instrument enthusiasts is trying to get your hardware to work across various machines, especially across generations. Luckily, Harmonix is making it easy with Rock Band 4, announcing that all instruments will work on the next-generation consoles. In addition, all DLC will be compatible on day one, meaning you’ll be able to start jamming with all your downloaded songs as soon as you get your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X.

Modern Warfare Update 1.21 Will Allow You to Uninstall Specific Modes on PC

The massive install size of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has become a joke in the video game world — particularly in regards to its PC version, which clocks in at a comical 200 GB. Fortunately, the game’s upcoming 1.28 update will allow you to delete specific modes to reduce the file size, as confirmed by Paul Haile, production director on Modern Warfare. It’s unclear how robust this feature will be or how much storage space it will save, but it’s a welcome feature nonetheless. Do note that this feature has only been confirmed for the PC version and will be available tomorrow, Oct. 14.

Burger King PlayStation 5 Promotion Seemingly Leaked

Yesterday, a bizarre Burger King commercial began making the rounds, featuring the Burger King himself peering into a bag with the caption, “Do Whopper sandwiches normally do this?” and the mention that something will be happening on 10/15. The video was retweeted by the official PlayStation account, indicating a cross-promotion is in the works. Now, new, allegedly leaked images from supposed Burger King employees have sprung up. Apparently, this promotion is for a giveaway in which you have the chance to win a PlayStation 5 through Burger King by purchasing a select product through the company’s app. We’ll find out more specifics on Oct. 15.
