Cyberpunk 2077 Gets Positive Reviews from Many Outlets

Today, the review embargo for Cyberpunk 2077 lifted, meaning outlets were free to share their impressions of the highly anticipated game. Fortunately, it seems to be getting fantastic scores across the board, though the general consensus is that it’s got myriad bugs and glitches in its current state on PC. Some hypothesize the console versions will only bring even worse performance issues. In any case, Cyberpunk 2077 doesn’t seem to change the way we think about open-world games, but it’s still doing well from a critical standpoint. It’ll launch on Dec. 10.

Rust Console Edition Delayed Past 2020

The console edition of Rust has been delayed beyond 2020, according to the game’s publisher, Double Eleven. As with many game delays this year, the COVID-19 pandemic has made it extremely difficult for developers to work effectively. The game came to PC in 2013 and has undergone many changes since its original release. It’s unclear when exactly Rust will come to consoles, but it will hopefully be some time in 2021.

Nintendo in Hot Water with Fans Over Canceling Splatoon 2 Tournament Stream

Following the cease-and-desist Nintendo issued towards unofficial Super Smash Bros. tournament “The Big House” for using modded copies of the game last month, fans were unhappy with how things were handled — so much so that the #FreeSmash and #FreeMelee hashtags began trending on Twitter. Over the weekend, Nintendo canceled a highly anticipated Splatoon 2 North America Open livestream due to “unexpected executional challenges,” though many fans aren’t buying this explanation. Instead, the community believes the stream was canceled because many of the tournament’s top teams were vocal for supporting the Big House event and were disappointed with Nintendo for issuing the cease-and-desist.

Additionally, even more fans are upset with Nintendo for sending a wholly different cease-and-desist to “CptnAlex” for customized Etika memorial Joy-Con intended to be sold to raise money for charity.
