Ys IX: Monstrum Nox Is Launching on PlayStation 4 in February

As announced via the NIS America Twitter account today, Ys IX: Monstrum Nox has gotten its Western release date, and it’s not far off. It will launch for PlayStation 4 on Feb. 2, 2021 and will also release for PC and Switch later in the summer of 2021. It’s been out in Japan since 2019, but as with many Japanese-developed games, it usually takes a while for them to receive full, quality localizations. You can check out a new trailer in the tweet below.

Check Out the New Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Trailer, Which Shows Off the Game’s Action

The launch of Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is approaching, and THQ Nordic recently released a new trailer for it showing off a ton of action. Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is a remaster of the 2012 original, which launched to critical praise, though it failed to set the world on fire from a commercial standpoint. It’ll be out for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Sept. 8. Here’s a look at its “Choose Your Destiny: Finesse” trailer.

Stop Everything You’re Doing: Sea of Thieves Is Getting Dogs in Its Next Update

As we suspected after watching a recent Xbox Game Pass trailer during Gamescom Opening Night Live, dogs are, in fact, coming to Sea of Thieves. Rare has confirmed that various dog breeds will be added in the game’s September update, which will add a host of other new features as well. But really, we’re here for the doggos, right? A tweet from the official Sea of Thieves account shows some of the dogs in action.

Square Enix Spills the Beans on Marvel’s Avengers’ Gear and Cosmetics System

The lead-up to Marvel’s Avengers has been full of surprises — some good and some bad (looking at you, Spider-Man exclusivity on PlayStation). Square Enix finally gave us the information we’d been hoping for when it comes to the game’s cosmetics and gear system. In a blog post from the company, we learned that there will be four different varieties with its cosmetics: Outfits, Emotes, Takedowns, and Nameplates.

We also learned more about its vendors and the resources they’ll sell, how Hero Challenge Cards will work, and a lot more. Chiefly, Hero Challenge Cards — akin to a battle pass for an individual character — will cost 1,000 credits, which apparently equates to $10. These cards will come unlocked by default for the base game’s first six heroes, but after that, you will be paying extra money if you want new characters’ cosmetics. However, fully completing a Hero Challenge Card will give you your 1,000 credits back, so if you’re an especially hardcore player, you’ll theoretically only pay $10 once.

Marvel’s Avengers will launch for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Sept. 4.
