Animal Crossing: New Horizons Switch Systems Will Be Restocked

Those looking to get their hands on the rare Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch system might be in luck. Nintendo will be issuing out another batch of them at select retailers starting on Oct. 9, 2020, at the very least in Australia and New Zealand. It will be a limited amount, but you might be able to get your hands on one. The system originally launched alongside the game earlier this year and features an Animal Crossing dock and unique Joy-Con controllers. Keep your eyes open for if this restock will occur globally. Just remember that this console does not come with the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game itself.

Fall Guys Earned the Highest Amount of PC Launch Revenue Since the Release of Overwatch

We’ve been covering Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout since its release in August 2020, and now we have an idea of how it performed commercially on PC. According to SuperData (as relayed by GamesIndustry.biz), Fall Guys had the highest-earning launch on PC since the release of Overwatch in 2016, earning $185 million in revenue in August — with 8.2 million users purchasing the game.

Doom Eternal Likely Headed to Xbox Game Pass

Today, the official Xbox Game Pass Twitter account teased a new addition to the service, and fans were quick to uncover what it likely is. The tweet featured an image of an email from Microsoft executive “Melissa McGamepass,” teasing a new game coming to Game Pass. On the surface, it was unclear what the game is, but after a fan adjusted the image’s brightness, the text “The Slayer is Coming” can be read — leading many to believe this is a tease for Doom Eternal. (Notably, Doom 2016 had been available on the service at one point in the past.) Now that Microsoft owns Bethesda and all of its IP, bringing a game like Doom Eternal to the service makes complete sense — as all first-party games are available through Game Pass as soon as they launch. According to the email, we’ll find out more “soon.”

Ghostrunner Will Launch for Nintendo Switch Alongside Other Systems

CD Projekt Red isn’t the only company releasing a cyberpunk game this year. Ghostrunner, a first-person parkour-inspired cyberpunk action game from One More Level, 3D Realms, and Slipgate Ironworks, will be launching in October. And today, we received confirmation that it will also be headed to Nintendo Switch day and date with other platforms. It will launch on Oct. 27 on Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Check out the stylish trailer below.

The Game Awards 2020 Confirmed for December

We pretty much knew The Game Awards would not occur in front of a live audience this year, but we now know for sure how the annual ceremony will take place. The Game Awards 2020 will air live from Los Angeles, London, and Tokyo on Thursday, Dec. 10. It will feature a new award for innovation in accessibility (which is freaking awesome) and will still include big game announcements the fans have learned to expect from each show. The Game Awards creator and host Geoff Keighley said to Variety that developers and game companies are “really excited” to show off new games.
