The Devil is a Part-timer!, or Hataraku Maō-sama!, is all about Satan and his part-time job at a fast food restaurant. The series started as a manga in 2011, and in 2013 it finally got to televisions. The series centers around the situations that arise as Satan is forced to encounter many characters from a not so great time of his life.

The anime Fairy Tail takes place in a world populated with countless fantasy creatures, pretty fitting considering the name. Specifically Fairy Tail is actually a famous wizards’ guild, and one girl, Lucy Heartfilia, that leaves their family to join the group. The series follows Lucy and a group of fellow guild members as they traverse their world as they get into tight situations and subjugate illegal guilds. Basically Law and Order: Guild Police.

Enough fantasy, back to Satan. In Blue Exorcist we follow the son of Satan as he becomes an exorcist to get back at his father. This is some next-level rebellion going on here, he isn’t just going to listen to loud music, he’s going to rid the world of his father. Geesh, this could be called Daddy Issues 2.0: That Escalated Quickly. The series even has a character named Mephisto Pheles, which I’m pretty sure means something.

Sword Art Online is all about a VRMMORPG, or Virtual Reality Massively Online Role-Playing Game to the uninitiated. The series takes place inside of the VRMMORPG named Sword Art Online, which is released in 2022. The show starts as the characters log into the game and realize that they can’t escape unless they fight their way to a boss and defeat the baddie. The kicker being that if they die in the game they die in real life. This all boils down to the series being a very futuristic [i]Nightmare on Elm Street but without all of that sleeping.

Noragami follows a teenage girl named Hiyori Iki. The series starts out with her saving a person, because she saved this person she turns into a half-phantom. The person that she saved also turns out to be a god, so maybe that would explain the half-phantom part. One of the downsides to her half-phantom disorder is that she becomes a narcoleptic, but only because her soul keeps slipping out of her body. So that could be considered a downside, the whole falling asleep randomly can’t be a good thing.

Deadman Wonderland is about a young boy that watched a red man slaughter his class. Of course he is brought up on charges because he’s the lone survivor. He’s quickly sentenced to death in the Deadman Wonderland, a massive theme park prison. He soon learns how to use his blood as a weapon, not like Ebola or other blood borne disease. Watch this to see just how messed up the world could be, we could have people wandering around with weapons made of blood.

The series starts out with our protagonist Maka Albarn fighting an evil witch who plans on killing innocent humans. So basically if they succeed in killing this evil witch they just need to absorb the souls of 99 humans, they got the witch out of the way quick.
