After Far Cry 5 dropped players on American soil for a battle against religious fanatics, Far Cry 6 will return to a tropical setting with the Cuba-inspired Yara. Players take the role of a local freedom fighter named Dani Rojas, who is attempting to overthrow the nation’s tyrannical dictator Anton Castillo (Giancarlo Esposito) and his young son Diego (Anthony Gonzalez). Ubisoft is promoting Yara as its biggest Far Cry setting to date, with the game world including a range of varied locales amid its city and surrounding wilderness.

Far Cry 6 will be available across Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S. The game will also support both Sony and Microsoft’s cross-generational purchase programs, ensuring free upgrades for anyone upgrading within the same console family. Stay tuned for any official word from Ubisoft on the Microsoft Store release date listing.

Ubisoft’s latest release is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which The Escapist’s Mark Delaney scored with a 9/10, saying it “feels more freeform and full of life than all that came before it.”
