Game Park Declares Bankruptcy

Hand-held maker Game Park files for bankruptcy.

Approximately two years after Korean electronics company GamePark divided into two smaller competitors, Game Park and GamePark Holdings, the ailing Game Park filed for bankruptcy. The hand-held manufacturer was well-known in small circles for its “Extreme Game Player” (XGP), an indirect sequel to the mildly successful GP32 hand-held it revealed in 2005 but never got the chance to produce. Even a showing at E3 2006 was not able to attract any investors to inject life into the profitless corporation. Game Park has collapsed so quickly that even its website has now become a redirect for Japanese shoes.
