halo 2 anniversary halo the master chief collection

343 Industries has revealed that both Halo 2 and its highly regarded remaster will be the next part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection to be released on PC, and some players in the Halo Insider Program won’t have to wait long to experience it.

In the company’s latest development update, it announced that the next series of PC test flights are on the way. It will include content for Halo 2Halo 2 Anniversary, and Halo: Reach‘s Forge and Theater modes. Some fixes to Halo: Reach audio issues are also on the way, although it might miss the next date. All of the content is expected to go out at the end of March if development goes as planned.

The developer does reiterate though that it might not all go according to schedule. “If we remember back to earlier this year, we aimed to start flighting in January, but it ended up rolling into February when those kicked off,” 343 Industries explained. “Please be patient as we want to get these out as quickly as possible, but in development: things happen.”

If one wants to check out the flight of Halo 2, they’ll have to join the Halo Insider Program. This allows diehard fans to get test builds of titles and for the development team to get needed feedback. The studio notes that the builds are often “rough around the edges” as they’re a work-in-progress rather than the final build everyone gets to see. Those that sign up for the program can get an invite to this test, although it isn’t a guarantee.
