Journey Makes the Jump to Steam in June

Annapurna Interactive is bringing thatgamecompany’s award-winning Journey to Steam in June. The critically acclaimed meditative game was given its Steam page today, with Annapurna making PC players aware of the news via tweet. Now, come June 11, those more inclined to purchase their games through Steam will be able to join in on Journey’s artsy and attractive adventure.

Journey originally launched for PlayStation 3 users in March of 2012. Besides releasing later for PlayStation 4, Annapurna helped bring the game to iOS devices and PC through the Epic Games Store last year. With many major platforms now allowing players to pick up and play Journey, it remains unclear if the game will ever make the jump to Nintendo Switch or a Microsoft home console.

Since releasing Journey seven years ago, thatgamecompany launched Sky: Children of the Light for mobile devices in July of last year. Sky was revealed for Nintendo Switch just last month with a summer 2020 release window.

OnlySP got a chance to pick Journey composer Austin Wintory’s brain about some of his most acclaimed soundtracks earlier this year. Aside from opening up about the process of working on games, Wintory shared that he enjoys messaging those who purchase his albums on Bandcamp.
