Pit’s angelic guardian Palutena is proving that she can hold her own in the Super Smash Bros. arena.

Original Story: Nintendo closed out its E3 Nintendo Direct presentation with another Super Smash Bros. character reveal. Lady Paluntea, Pit’s angelic guardian from the Kid Icarus series, will be descending from the heavens to join the battle on the front lines.
Her reveal started with a pretty cool animated sequence of Pit facing off against Link. Just when things were looking bad for Pit, Lady Paluntea showed up to save the day. The in-game footage showed her using some of the techniques she had taught Pit over the years, in particular, a lot of his special moves from the 3DS’s Kid Icarus: Uprising.
At the end of the trailer, Pit’s arch nemesis “Dark Pit” even shows up, who we can assume will probably be an alternate costume for Pit.
Furthermore, according to the recently added how to play page on the official Smash Bros. website, Palutena players will be able to chose from a set of different special attacks, in a similar way to how the Mii Fighters work.
