Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is a remaster of a 2012 action RPG from 38 Studios and EA. The original game launched on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 to positive reviews. In 2018, THQ Nordic purchased the IP after 38 Studios declared bankruptcy. Aside from the upcoming DLC, the publisher has not expressed its explicit future plans for the IP.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning came to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in September 2020 after a leak revealed its existence earlier that year. The Fatesworn expansion was scheduled to arrive sometime in 2021 last year as well, though THQ Nordic has yet to announce a release date.
