No Time to Die is Bond 25

No Time to Die Is the Official Title of Bond 25

The title for the 25th James Bond film, featuring Daniel Craig returning to the role, has been revealed to be No Time to Die in a brief video on the James Bond YouTube page.

In the video, Craig walks across the screen in a perfectly cut tuxedo as suavely as any man has ever walked across a screen and gives a knowing look towards the camera before fading into blackness as we pull out and reveal the title of the film. There isn’t much else to it other than the decidedly retro font they’ve chosen for the movie, which feels like something out of the ’70s and may give a hint at what style of Bond we’ll be receiving.

The film has had a rough go of it since its announcement way back when Spectre was released. Danny Boyle eventually came on to direct the film after the producers couldn’t convince Sam Mendes to return. However, creative differences drove Boyle away from the production as well, putting the project on hold until Cary Joji Fukunaga was tapped to direct and rework the screenplay. Even once the dust had settled, the movie has had shooting issues with Daniel Crag getting injured, scheduling problems with actors, and an explosion causing a crew member to get injured.

The film finds Bond retired and living in Jamaica when Felix Leiter finds him to request help with a mission to rescue a scientist. Of course, things are a bit more complex than that. The shooting script was called Shatterhand, which has led many to believe that the film may be a more faithful adaptation of Ian Flemming’s novel You Only Live Twice, since the villain in that book uses the name as an alias. The cast is strong with Rami Malek, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Lashana Lynch, Jeffrey Wright, Lea Seydoux, and Billy Magnussen all joining and a rumored return of Christoph Waltz as well.

No Time to Die will release April 8, 2020 in the U.S.
