Pikmin 3 Deluxe, Nintendo, Nintendo Switch, Olimar, Louie, Wii U

Long-rumored Nintendo Switch port Pikmin 3 Deluxe has finally been revealed to launch later this year. Nintendo announced its revamped Wii U game today, almost exactly seven years after the original game’s North American launch. The enhanced port launches on Oct. 30 for $59.99, bringing full co-op for Story mode, new Olimar and Louie-focused side-story missions that also feature co-op, multiple difficulty modes, and all the DLC from the original game. You can see how Pikmin 3 Deluxe looks in the announcement trailer below.

Aside from including Pikmin 3’s original Mission mode DLC packs, the game’s new side-story missions will allow players to step into the shoes of Olimar and Louie on planet PNF-404, elaborating on the details of the original Wii U release. Plus, Nintendo is including the Piklopedia, which contains information about the game’s wildlife and even introduces a way for players to earn badges by meeting certain criteria. Screenshots of some of the new content can be seen below.

An enhanced lock-on targeting system, general quality-of-life improvements, Bingo Battle multiplayer matches, and more will also be found in Pikmin 3 Deluxe.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe will help flesh out Nintendo’s second half of 2020 when it comes to Nintendo Switch on Oct. 30.
