League of Legends Is Getting RPG and Platformer Spin-Offs Respectively

Airship Syndicate and Double Stallion Games are each creating League of Legends spinoff games for PC and consoles. Both titles were revealed at last night’s Game Awards, only giving a taste of what’s in store. Check out the trailers for Airship Syndicate’s game, Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, and Double Stallion’s game, Convergence: A League of Legends Story, below.

Ruined King will focus on story with turn-based RPG gameplay. Here, players will take control of different champions in the post-Burning Tides city of Bilgewater. Convergence, on the other hand, is described as a single-player action platformer, and “players will explore the spectacular world of Zaun as Ekko, a young inventor with an ingenious device to manipulate.”

These are the first titles to be published under Riot Games’ new label, Riot Forge, which invites third-party developers to expand the League universe in new ways. Though not much about the games has been revealed yet, the art styles, gameplay promises, and connections to the League of Legends universe should definitely be enough to get fans interested. If you want to stay up to date with all of the incoming updates for both titles, you can sign up for news messages on the Ruined King and Convergence websites.

Riot recently announced that it would be creating more projects other than League of Legends earlier this year and even went as far as to show some footage of what it’s been working on.
