Scorn is a nightmarish Xbox Series X | S console exclusive that just got 13 minutes of gameplay to watch. The footage comes from GameSpot, showing off Ebb Software’s slow-paced FPS gameplay, labyrinthine alien designs, and twisted enemies and guns. The PC and console game has been in the works for some time, so today’s footage is certainly welcome as Microsoft prepares to launch its next-gen consoles. You can see Scorn’s hellish atmosphere in the video below.

This body horror FPS from Ebb is inspired by H.R. Giger’s work on the Alien franchise as well as the surrealist creations of Polish artist Zdzisław Beksiński. First revealed with pre-alpha gameplay footage in 2014, Scorn would later that year go to Kickstarter for an ultimately canceled campaign, with a second, successful Kickstarter campaign occurring in 2017. The game was re-revealed earlier this year for Microsoft’s Xbox Series X | S and PC.

On the game’s Steam page, Ebb Software says players will explore a cohesive, “lived-in” world filled with plenty of unique horrors. Inventory and ammo management play a large part in Scorn, as the emphasis on limited resources is said to play “a big role in keeping the player in an even greater state of awareness throughout the whole game.”

Xbox Series X | S will launch on Nov. 10, though Scorn isn’t set to come until sometime in 2021.
