Tales of Arise was announced in June 2019 and was previously set to launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2020. After the game saw an indefinite delay last year due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bandai Namco didn’t show off any more substantial footage until March of 2021 with the game’s “Tales of Festival” trailer. Today, Tales of Arise finally received a firm release date.

At the time of the delay, the publisher said that its aim was to push “the technical envelope to deliver a high level of graphical quality to impress both long-time players and those who have never played a Tales Of game.” While the delay was lengthy, it seems the extra development time was used to ease pressure on the Tales of Arise team and deliver a visually better game on more powerful consoles.

While you wait for that September release date, you can watch the seven-minute gameplay footage uploaded by Famitsu. The video is entirely in Japanese but still showcases how the combat works in Tales of Arise‘s many different environments.
