The Division 2 Gets 4K & 60 FPS Update for PS5 & XSX in 2021

The Division 2 is getting some enhancements for Sony and Microsoft’s new consoles in an upcoming update. Ubisoft Massive held a State of the Game Twitch stream yesterday to talk about what’s next for its dystopian shooter. Along with a more detailed talk about what the team has been up to, it announced (at 26:00) that the sequel is getting 4K and 60 FPS support on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. These updates are being bundled in with the game’s Title Update 12.1, which isn’t planned to launch until Feb. 2, 2021. Ubisoft Massive content specialist @rxlyaT on Twitter also shared the news.

The Division 2 Associate Creative Director Yannick Banchereau also added during the State of the Game stream that this is not a full upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X |S, as the February patch’s next-gen enhancements stop at 4K and 60 FPS support. There is no word on if we can expect to see any further upgrades in the future.

The Division 2 launched early last year and has seen a number of content drops since. In February 2020, we got a good look at The Division 2: Warlords of New York, which launched in March and brought back familiar territory and Aaron Keener. Before that came the game’s Pentagon: The Last Castle Title Update, which saw Ubisoft Massive including new modes, missions, and the Technician Specialization. The game’s next major update, Title Update 12, is scheduled to arrive on Dec. 8, bringing even more content for fans.
