FBI On the Hunt for Anonymous, End Up In Texas

As part of an investigation into the recent DDoS attacks on PayPal, FBI agents have seized data from a Texas-based server hosting company which they believe may hold the key to finding those responsible. PayPal investigators provided the Bureau with several IP addresses, one of which agent tracked to Germany, then France, and then back to the US. PC Gamers Pull Together, Get Vietnam Map

There’s a bonus map in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam, but DICE decided that players would have to work for it if they wanted to play on it. DICE set the bar high – players on each platform had to perform 69 million team actions – but in just over a week the PC players were able to co-operate their way to a new killing ground. Black Ops Pirated Lots, No One Surprised

Like its predecessor, Call of Duty: Black Ops has won the dubious honor of being the most pirated PC game of 2010 with a staggering 4.3 million downloads. Nipping at its heels was Battlefield: Bad Company 2 with 3.9 million downloads, and Mafia 2 with 3.5 million. Black Ops also put in a decent show on the Xbox 360 piracy chart. It didn’t come in at number one, but it did manage a very respectable fifth place, with 930,000 downloads. (Link)

Local News Channel Reports on Kinect Sex Game

ThriXXX’s Kinect-using, fondling simulator has received some attention from a local CNN news affiliate, based in El Paso, Texas, and it’s about as sensationalist and misinformed as you might expect. After buying her 5-year-old son Edwin an Xbox 360 and Kinect for Christmas, she was shocked to discover to discover the terrible things that people were doing with Kinect. Sadly, the news that the Microsoft had blocked the ThriXXX game seemed to provide little comfort. (Link)
