Two New Screenshots From Shadowmoor Expansion to Magic: The Gathering

Exclusive screenshots of two new cards from the upcoming Shadowmoor expansion set for Magic: The Gathering are now available on The Escapist.

“The Aurora has plunged Lorwyn into eternal night, transforming the once-idyllic plane into the eerie world of Shadowmoor. The gloom has transformed its denizens, too – creatures of fable have become monsters from dark fairytales. Races and characters introduced in Lorwyn are back, but with twisted allegiances and new powers.”

Coming May 2, Shadowmoor will feature all-new game mechanics, with warped combat effects that can turn combat into meat grinders, where battles of attrition and timely reanimation can determine victory or defeat. More than one-third of the cards in Shadowmoor will include hybrid mana costs, newly returned to the game, while the Wither and Persist effects will give add weight to -1/-1 counters. The 301-card expansion will be available via booster packs, tournament packs, theme decks and fat packs, and will feature randomly inserted premium cards.
