There’s lots to discuss in the world of video games today, thanks in part to the recent Nintendo Indie World Showcase. In it, we got a new release date for Cris Tales, as well as the reveal of Fez for Nintendo Switch. Elsewhere, Ubisoft delayed the latest Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids DLC. Cris Tales Gets Summer Release Date

As revealed during today’s Nintendo Indie World Showcase, RPG Cris Tales has finally received its release date. It will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PC, and Nintendo Switch on July 20, 2021. It was previously supposed to launch sometime in 2020 but had been delayed indefinitely. Cris Tales is a throwback to classic RPGs but also has an interesting time-bending mechanic and beautiful visuals. You can watch its release date trailer below.

Apex Legends Has Reached 100 Million Players

A little over two years since its initial release, Apex Legends has surpassed 100 million players worldwide. This news comes by way of the game’s official Twitter account, thanking the community for the support. It first launched in February 2019 across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and finally came to Nintendo Switch earlier this year, with a mobile version planned for 2022.

Fez Has Launched for Nintendo Switch Today

Acclaimed puzzle-platformer Fez is out now on Nintendo Switch, as revealed during today’s Nintendo Indie World Showcase. Fez is known for its beautiful visuals and smart puzzles and has received numerous awards since its release in 2012. It was one of the leading games covered in Indie Game: The Movie, which led to its popularity. As developer Polytron notes, Fez‘s Nintendo Switch release comes just one day shy of its ninth birthday.

Lost Vikings 2 and RPM Racing Have Joined Blizzard Arcade Collection

Joining the lineup of games in Blizzard Arcade Collection are Lost Vikings 2 and RPM Racing. These two games come to the collection as a free update and are available across all platforms now. Lost Vikings 2 is a puzzle-platformer that originally launched for SNES, Sega Saturn, PlayStation, and PC in 1997, while RPM Racing is — you guessed it — a racing game that first came to the SNES in 1991. RPM Racing is the predecessor to Rock N Roll Racing, which is also part of the collection.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids DLC Has Been Delayed

Ubisoft has delayed the release of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids DLC. Originally set to release on April 29, it will now launch on May 13. This news comes by way of the Assassin’s Creed Twitter account, explaining that the delay will help the team “deliver a more refined experience.” Wrath of the Druids will be the game’s first major expansion, which will be followed by Siege of Paris later down the line.
