War Mongrels Will Tell Grim World War II Stories Through Tactical Gameplay in 2021

War Mongrels gives players a top-down, tactical, story-driven view of World War II and was just announced by the studio behind Hatred and Ancestors Legacy, Destructive Creations. Expected to launch in Q3 of 2021 for PC via Steam as well as current- and next-gen platforms, this isometric, real-time tactics game follows stories inspired by actual events and stories. You can see Destructive Creations and publisher All in! Games’ bleak take on the Second World War in the trailer below.

In War MongrelsSteam description, Destructive says it chose to focus on the Eastern Front of World War II as it “has been receiving less attention in gaming” despite the impactful role it played in the war. In this corner of the Eastern Front, the game’s story follows two Wehrmacht soldiers as they find their place among the atrocities of war. Plus, if you don’t feel like braving the war alone, you can join in with a friend to experience the story in co-op.

The team of two will grow with new characters, each with their own unique gameplay qualities. Destructive and All in! say that learning to utilize the specific strengths of each character is essential for survival in War Mongrels, as players will be sneaking, distracting, and using the environment to their advantage throughout the story when it comes to PC and current- and next-gen consoles.

War Mongrels will bring its grim battlefields to Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X later next year.
