Wanted: GTA IV DLC. Height: First Quarter, Fiscal 2009

The much-debated downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV will not be seen until November at the earliest, Take Two said.

The company said the two downloadable episodes will be released during the first fiscal quarter of 2009, which runs from November 1 to January 31; they were originally slated for an earlier release.

The cause of the delay is not related to hurdles in crafting the content but rather a way of “provid[ing] a better balance in Take Two’s release schedule,” the company claimed.

The DLC is exclusive to the Xbox 360, although the game itself shipped concurrently for the 360 and the PlayStation 3.

Sony has both downplayed the importance of the DLC and, more recently, claimed some form of DLC is likely to come to the PS3 as well.
