Todd Howard is the one responsible for creating The Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered, but he also happens to be an NPC in the game.
Unlike most of the Easter eggs you’ll notice while exploring Cyrodiil, this Todd Howard NPC can be found through special means only. It’s just a small nod to the game’s creator, and does not have any mission implications at all.
How to Get to Todd Howard NPC in Oblivion Remastered
To get to the Todd Howard NPC, you’ll need to use the console command “coc toddtest”. Using this command will teleport you to a special testing room where you’ll find an NPC named Alban Corinis, who Todd Howard himself voices.
You can interact with the NPC and talk to him, and this is the only instance where you’ll be able to hear Todd Howard talking in Oblivion Remastered. If you use the console command “coc testinghall,” you’ll be taken to the testing hall instead, but Todd Howard’s NPC won’t be there.
This is a testing environment that existed in the old game, and the NPC was used to test the disposition mechanic. Bethesda retaining this feature while remastering Oblivion is a testament to its desire to preserve the essence of the title that was released years ago.

You can’t teleport out of the room, but there’s a door that opens out into the wilderness. Once you’re outside, you’ll find a huge Dremora and a few horses for testing. It seems like the console command is the only way to make your way into this room, because I tried marking the location on the map and coming back to it, but I couldn’t find it again.
Apart from the NPC, there’s not much for you to discover inside this room. There’s no limit to how many times you can access this room. However, since it’s only accessible through console commands, we recommend saving your game before using it. Using console commands locks you out from earning achievements and trophies, so if you manually save your game, you can have the best of both worlds.
Who is Todd Howard?
Todd Howard is a director and producer at Bethesda Game Studios. He’s primarily responsible for the success of The Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises, as well as Starfield. With Oblivion Remastered successfully under his belt, he’s currently working on The Elder Scrolls 6, which could likely be the last title he works on before retirement. His claim to fame is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which has practically become immortal at this point, thanks to the modders and Bethesda’s repeated releases of newer versions.
