Deadlock’s next hero is Celeste as the final voting round completes

Players have voted, and the results are in: Celeste is the next Deadlock hero on the way.

Deadlock fans can now play Celeste and get their hands on her, trying out her magical, whimsical performing star ways, straight from Coney Island. It leaves Apollo as the final hero, who is now launching on February 12th to round out the Old Gods hero release cycle.

Celeste abilities in Deadlock

In case you’re wondering, Celeste is an interesting character. Her abilities are as follows:

Light Eater – 10m skill that blasts enemies in a cone in front of you with a flare of light. Enemies hit take Spirit Damage when attacked by Celeste and provide 20% Spirit Lifesteal.

  • Upgrades: -10s CD, 3m cast range and 15% Spirit Lifesteal, and 25 damage and increased Spirit scaling.

Dazzling Trick – Surround yourself in a protective prism that provides bonus movement speed. If the barrier is destroyed, it silences nearby enemies and deals a portion of the barrier as damage.

  • Upgrades: 2.5m move speed, 100 Barrier and increased Spirit Scaling, +2 Silence Duration and -18 Cooldown. Allows Shining Wonder Bounce (ult).

Radiant Daggers – Call down a beam of light from the sky. After a short duration, the beam will fully form, causing an explosion that deals Spirit Damage to all targets in the area. Celeste will receive a stacking buff that increases her spirit damage any time this hits an enemy hero.

  • Upgrades: 2 charges, -12s cooldown and 60 impact damage, and 3% spirit amp and 6% fire rate per stack.

Shining Wonder (ULT) – Launches a deadly orb of light that deals Spirit damage and applies a slow and reduces Dash Distance on impact. The orb then bounces to the nearest enemy within range. If no target is found, the orb will linger for a short duration while continuing to look for targets.

  • Upgrades: -20% Move Speed and 15% Dash Distance. Second upgrade: 50 Damage, +10 Max Bounces and -35s Cooldown.

How Celeste plays

Celeste is described as a Disruptor, and that largely seems to be how she plays. That means she wants to amplify her damage with her third skill, while getting in close by silencing with her shield, and amplifying Spirit Lifesteal from her first skill.

Her ultimate also helps lock down areas, set up allies with its slowing impact, and reduce enemies’ movement dashes, setting up for picks.

Not too sure on builds yet, but ability cooldown and duration seem like really good options for increasing her damage and sustain, lifesteal sustain, and slowing durations. A longer ability cooldown is handy, too, for getting more spells out.

You probably want Health and Spirit damage too, since you’re playing a sort of setup role and need to get in relatively close range to get your lifesteal, so that makes sense too.
