Destiny: Rising, the mobile Sci-Fi shooter set in the Destiny universe is now available worldwide after 10m pre-registrations

Netease Games has just released Destiny: Rising for the computer you carry around in your pocket every day, and after over 10 million pre-registrations for the game, it would be safe to assume there are going to be plenty of folks to play against when you download it.

Featuring a diverse roster of characters, each with unique abilities and stories, Destiny: Rising offers players dynamic and challenging single, co-op, and competitive multiplayer gameplay, including beloved game modes familiar to Destiny players, and all-new modes that introduce new ways to play Destiny.”

The official blurb tells us: “As a genesis of new possibilities in the Destiny Universe, Destiny: Rising delves into an unseen era where burgeoning hope blooms once again after a terrifying collapse of civilization and the dangers of the resulting Dark Age. With the help of legendary Iron Lords, humanity has broken free from the shackles of tyranny and begun to rally together against the alien forces intent on its extinction. Amidst the chaos of this early age for The City, a new generation of Lightbearers, resurrected by mysterious entities known as Ghosts, set out to restore humanity’s prominence and secure its future.”

Netease has released a new dev preview, which you can watch below, that will guide you through some of what to expect when you jump in.

Destiny: Rising has also announced a special cross-promotion event with Destiny 2. After completing the “Bear the Light” event in Destiny: Rising, players will be able to redeem an exclusive emblem for use in Destiny 2 through the Bungie.net website.

If you are up for giving Destiny: Rising a go, you can check it out on the official site and sign up for an account. You can join in the fun on iOS and Android, and the fact that this is officially licensed from Destiny creator Bungie means you can expect the same high level of polish when you take on this alternative Destiny universe.

There is also an option to play on PC via an Android emulator, but as yet, we haven’t tried that one out.
