We may know the release window for The Elder Scrolls 6 and you won’t like it

A prominent leaker has claimed that The Elder Scrolls 6 will be coming in late 2027.

The Elder Scrolls 6 was first announced with a trailer in 2018. Yes, 2018. Despite being shared so long ago (dang, we’re old), there has not been much news about the long-awaited Bethesda game. In fact, fully active development started in 2023 after Starfield’s (lame) launch, so we were already wondering how long this game would take to be released.

When is The Elder Scrolls 6 coming out?

Leaker eXtas1s recently revealed that he suspected The Elder Scrolls 6 will be coming in late 2027, which is further out than the previous 2026 prediction.

This hasn’t been confirmed by Bethesda, so we can argue against it all we want to make ourselves feel better. But eXtas1s explained that Bethesda’s team only recently became fully committed to the game’s development. The faraway release date has defintely left gamers bummed, however.

“For what?” said a roughly translated tweet in response to the leak. “Unfortunately, when the review comes out, it will tear it apart and destroy all its momentum just like it did with Starfield.”

Still, eXtas1s’ claims may not come true. They haven’t in the past, like the time he claimed that Bethesda would drop a new trailer for The Elder Scrolls 6 in July 2025. Others have also discussed a possible trailer throughout the year but so far these have not happened either.

For now, gamers will have to keep waiting to hear anything about the long-awaited Elder Scrolls title. We allegedly have until late 2027 to keep getting information!
