Silver is the latest hero to drop as part of Deadlock’s Old Gods update. She is the third hero to join the roster after player votes are cast, giving players a new goth baddie werewolf shapeshifter to play.
As it stands, Silver is fresh, players are still figuring her out, and, according to data scrapers, she’s not performing too well. Yet, she’s very new and still getting used to her higher-risk close-range playstyle. So, the win-rate is a little skewed right now.
However, there are a few early Silver builds creeping into the game at the moment that seem to be working for her survivability and close-range needs.
Deadlock Silver builds appearing so far
While it’s fairly early into Silver’s launch, she does seem to have some basic build patterns to follow. It’s largely centered around her key skills. Note, she has two forms, and so the skills are slightly different.
Human Form:
- Slam Fire – Instantly reload your gun and gain bonus fire rate and deal bonus weapon damage based on the target’s health, for a limited number of shots, but suffers from reduced accuracy.
- Boot Kick – Dash forward and kick the first enemy hit, dealing melee damage while pushing yourself back and off and marking them. Shooting the marked target deals Spirit Damage and removes the mark.
- Entangling Bola – Throws a bola, dealing Spirit Damage, applying a slow and preventing movement abilities, stamina or jumping.
- Lycan Curse (Passive) – Dealing damage generates bloodlust, increased at low health. At max bloodlust, you auto cast Lycan Curse. Gain increased max health on transformation, alongside move speed and stacking fire rate on enemy heroes. It also replaces your skills and weapon with ferocious versions. Gain 395 health, 4m move speed, and 81% fire rate. Also get missing health as healing, bullet resist and spirit resist bonuses too.
The general idea is that you are a sort of close range specialist with the shotgun, that offers some burst damage on your 1 ability. Your second and third is primarily on setting up burst windows with the bola, especially while entering Lycan form to make it easier to land your Werewolf skills and your kick.
Werewolf Skills:
- Go for the Throat – Deal Melee damage to all enemies in front of you, receiving a heal for a portion of the damage dealt, the damage increases by 8% missing health.
- Mauling Leap – Leap forward and maul for the first enemy hit for melee damage. They suffer from reduced bullet resist and take spirit damage over time.
- Tail Whack – Smash around you, dealing spirit damage. They suffer from Disarm and a brief slow.
As you can see, the core of the build is about building fire rate modifiers to help with getting into Lycan mode, and building melee and bruiser to assist with your key Werewolf survivability.
We recommend the following items as your core, depending on if you prefer to be dominant in your more human form or Werewolf form. Building cheaply for a few items early is fine, but the human stuff also gets better health for Werewolf. So keep it in mind. But, your main playmaking is in Werewolf form.
Silver item builds in Deadlock
Based on her damage and role profile, Silver needs a fair amount of melee damage options for her world form, alongside survivability and lifesteal synergy. We recommend the following options for her core builds:
- Rapid Rounds – Tier 1 > Swift Striker > Burst Fire – Tier 3 – Bullet and fire tate synergy.
- Extra Stamina – Tier 1 > Stamina Master – Tier 3 – Useful for getting extra satamina and recover, and in the late game you are fast and can perform decent air jumps to clsoe the gap on your oppontnets effectively.
- Melee Lifesteal (Tier 1) > Lifestrike (Tier 3) – Storing healing from melee attacks and increased melee damage. Also another tool for applying slows.
- Close Quarters > Point Blank (Tier 1) – You’re mainly after it for Weapon Damage in close range for human form but Point Blank grants a nice slow to your weapon too as an option for human form improvements.
- Bullet Lifesteal – Great item for self-healing while in human form with your gun, since you risk going low HP while in Human form.
- Extra Health (Tier 1) > Fortitude (Tier 3) – Bonus health and bonus movement speed.
- Hunter’s Aura (Tier 3) – Even more scaling with resistance shredding, which works with your Lycan form shredding too.
- Berserker – Tier 3: – Bullet Resist option with better bullet damage for human form scaling.
- Warp Stone – Tier 3: – Another bullet resit otion when you teleport forward 1M to help your engage potential.
Other items are more optional in case you need more spirit or bullet resist, depending on lanes and/or enemy team comps in your game. There are also options for better healing via the Restorative Locket for some on-demand healing, since you’re going to be near enemy heroes fairly often, helping for some quick stamina or healing burst when required.
But that’s the general gist of what we recommended running based on some early playtesting of some Silver builds in Deadlock. The next round of hero voting release is on, so get your wins and get voting for who is next.
