Guntouchables

Free right now, but only for today, a new horde shooter from Deep Rock Galactic’s Ghost Ship

Interesting launch tactic ahoy here. Ghost Ship Games and Game Swing are giving away their new horde shooting action roguelite on launch for free – but for one day only, before it starts costing you real cash.

The excellently named Guntouchables hales from Denmark and is published by Ghost Ship, who, of course, we all know for the excellent Deep Rock Galactic, DRG Survivor (which I played an absolute ton of when it first came out), and Spellrogue.

Guntouchables is an online co-op doomsday roguelite for 1-4 players. You play as a gun-toting group of ‘preppers’ trying to reclaim the world from an ever-evolving horde of mutants, constantly working to develop new, unique ways to kill you.

While Guntouchables is free until Aug 8, 10 AM CEST, if you pick it up until then and really like and want to show your appreciation to the devs, and we think you should, there is a Supporter Pack DLC that will get you extra items and the like, and also say thanks for the freebie.

If you like this sort of game, I reckon you are in for a treat with this one. It’s enjoyable even as a single player, but Guntouchables comes into its own if you get going in multiplayer. At the end of each round, players get to vote on upgrades, which is a cool mechanic that can cause some heated discussion, just when you think things have quietened down.

Head over to Steam and claim it while it’s free, but then do purchase the DLC to show willing if you like it. This is a nice, novel way to launch a game, and it would be good if other devs saw that this kind of thing actually worked, in a world of ever-increasing game prices.
