Nubeo automatic watch

High-end automatic watch celebrates Atari’s Asteroids like never before

If you ever want to know the way to my heart, it’s retro games. Closely followed by automatic watches. Those two things are my weak spots. I even made my own watch once. That’s how much I like automatic watches.

How do we make my bank account worse then, bearing in mind, neither of those “hobbies” is exactly cheap? Combine the two. That’s how.. Thanks, Nubeo. The kids can eat next month instead.

The freshly announced Console Automatic Atari Asteroids 2600 Limited Edition ( I wonder if I could get a discount if I offer my product naming services) comes from watch maker Nubeo and, as you can see from the above, it is neat.

The version of Asteroids depicted on the watch face comes directly from the Atari 2600 VCS version – not the vectorized space rocks of the arcade machines – although if you prefer that, Nubeo has one of those for you too. But here we are looking at the newly announced Console iteration.

Coming in five colorways with only 100 pieces available in each, this is a desirable collector’s item for retro gamers and horologists (look it up, it’s legit) alike.

The Asteroid Black one has already sold out, but at the time of writing, Cosmic Void, Orbiting Blue, and Nebula Night are all available at prices between £778 and £824 on the website.

The good news is that if that seems a little expensive, if you use the code CONSOLE65, you can get a whopping 65% off the price. Who knows how long that offer will last, but it will bring the price down enough for more people to jump on board.
