Kinetic Games, the studio behind Phasmophobia, has revealed that the popular horror title is heading to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
Announced at this year’s Game Awards, Phasmophobia is currently without a release date on Nintendo Switch 2.
Phasmophobia is coming to Switch 2 sometime next year
The Nintendo Switch 2 version follows Phasmophobia’s PlayStation and Xbox console launch in summer 2024. The co-op horror game will support up to four players online across all 14 maps, including the recently added Nell’s Diner.
Kinetic Games CEO and Game Director Daniel Knight said the team is “over the moon” to bring the game to Switch 2.
“It’s something both our community and all of us at Kinetic Games have wanted for a long time, so we’re really happy this long-kept secret is finally out there,” Knight said in a press release. “With 1.0 on track for 2026, it’s an exciting time to have new players get to experience the game.”
The Switch 2 announcement caps a busy year for the studio, which reworked maps in the game, improved the visuals, and added the aforementioned Nell’s Diner in November.
There’s also been some big content overhauls, like the new Evidence recording system affecting digital cameras, alongside sound and video recording, and even Van CCTV monitoring. The game will also get a Blumhouse movie adaptation, too.
The game’s next seasonal event, Winter’s Jest, kicks off on December 16th and sees players investigate hauntings across various eerie locations with a Christmas twist. Expect limited-time rewards during the festivities.
Phasmophobia is currently available in Early Access on PC via Steam, PS5, PSVR2, and Xbox Series X|S. The five-year-old game has now reached over 25 million global sales since launching into Early Access in 2020, and that’s only likely to climb with Nintendo Switch 2 players getting to join in the fun.
