TenZ and Kyedae break up, leaving VALORANT players unable to believe in love

The esports community’s favorite couple has broken up, with streamer Kyedae Shymko announcing on X (formerly Twitter) that her and VALORANT pro Tyson ‘TenZ’ Ngo are no longer together.

According to Kyedae’s tweet on February 7th, the couple has been broken up for a while, but finally felt ready to share the personal news.

“Toward the end of our relationship, we came to a realization that wasn’t easy to accept: we had stopped growing as individuals,” Kyedae wrote.

From working to hobbies, Kyedae explained that the couple did “everything together,” making their six-year relationship feel like 30. The couple moved in together just weeks after meeting and she felt they didn’t know much else.

“Over time, it became clear that we needed space to grow into our own people separately,” she wrote. “There was no wrongdoing, no resentment, and no single event that caused this.”

In other words: no tea.

TenZ and Kyedae got engaged around late 2022. In 2023, Kyedae revealed to fans that she was diagnosed with cancer and had been underdoing chemotherapy. The couple had gone through a lot together and often shared heartfelt posts about their relationship, making the breakup very emotional for fans.

Many shared “love is dead” retweets of the news.

While TenZ and Kyedae have reassured fans that they are both on good terms and not having any hard feelings, it still left many feeling there was no hope for a lasting relationship. Of course, Kyedae and TenZ were very young and it’s quite common for younger couples to realize they want different things out of life as they grow older.

“We still care deeply about each other and genuinely want the best for one another,” Kyedae wrote. “We’re also incredibly grateful for the time and life we shared together!”
