We always knew Stalker 2 was going to get there. A great game was already in the can when it released, as expected, bug-ridden to high heaven, just like its predecessors.
GSC Game World is loyal to its games though, and the launch was just a starting point. Now, already, in next to no time in the grand scheme of things, we have the v1.5 patch, and not only is it massive, it brings with it a whole wealth of things that change the game too.
We will talk about modding support and the doors that opens in a minute, but let’s start with the new trailer, which you can see below, that showcases some of the new weaponry on offer, as well as highlighting the new gameplay features the patch brings with it.
Stalker 2 – new weapons in 1.5
Two new toys to play with arrive in the patch, and we love a good sniper rifle, that’s for sure. The pistol is, perhaps, less exciting, but it sounds as though it will certainly knock enemies down, should you get the chance to get a shot off.
- Three-Line Rifle: A lightweight, bolt-action sniper rifle with impressive range and precision. Ideal for sharpshooters, this rifle has quickly become a favorite among veterans of the Zone. Encounter it early in your journey and test your aim against distant threats.
- Kora Pistol: A heavy-hitting, clunky pistol that sacrifices speed for raw power. Each shot from its limited magazine packs a punch, making it a must-have for stalkers who value impactful firepower. Seek out the rare Night Stalker variant, a unique Kora coveted by weapon collectors.
Mutant Parts Trading is the new crypto

If you thought Bitcoin was big, wait until you get a load of bits to make some coin. Killing off the mutants now causes drops of body parts, such as eyes and tusks, which can be traded in with NPCs for coupons. Lovely.
Official modding support in 1.5
Phase one of modding support arrives in v1.5 with more promised in the future. Modding comes in the form of The Zone Kit, a powerful modding toolkit that allows players to “shape the Zone to their vision”. Nope, we don’t know what that means either, but somebody in Marketing definitely wrote it. Here’s the run-down we have of what you can do in phase one at any rate.
- Modify or create new animations, weapons, mechanics, and anomalies.
- Adjust gameplay to suit your preferences, whether you’re seeking more challenge, less difficulty, or something entirely new.
- Share creations effortlessly via mod.io or Steam Workshop, depending on the platform.
Last but not least
As well as all the above there have actually been quality of life changes too and these will be welcomed by just about everybody.
- Further A-Life improvements.
- New Electric Water Tornado anomaly.
- New vehicle models scattered across the terrain.
- Expanded stash window size for better inventory management.
- Distinct icons for each ammo type, making identification effortless.
- Reload renewal, allowing Skif to seamlessly resume interrupted reloads.
