Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Season 1 Reloaded start time: Preload info, Fallout TV show collab and everything included

Call of Duty Black Ops 7’s campaign may not have captured players’ hearts, but the multiplayer remains a lot of fun months on from launch – and Season 1 Reloaded is only likely to bolster that.

As is tradition now, Call of Duty’s seasonal drops are followed up by smaller ‘Reloaded’ updates that add additional features, maps, weapons, and more. This time around, there are Fallout collaboration skins, more Endgame content, fresh multiplayer maps, and new Zombies fun to be had.

It’s a big update, so here’s everything you can expect from Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Season 1 Reloaded, as per the Call of Duty blog.

The Escapist recaps

  • Black Ops 7’s Season 1 Reloaded update is free for all players, but it’s a big download.
  • It includes new weapons, modes, maps, and even a Fallout crossover.

Black Ops 7 Season 1 Reloaded Release Time and Preload Info

The update will arrive today, January 8, and is expected to go live at the following times:

  • 9 AM PST
  • 12 PM EST
  • 5 PM GMT

The best part is, it’s free. While Call of Duty used to split the community between the ‘haves and have-nots’ with map packs, Activision has moved to free updates since Modern Warfare 2019.

Preload is a little more complex, though. The patch can be preloaded, but it’s a 175GB download. While it’ll naturally shrink as older files are replaced, that’s a huge outlay of storage space that you might not be ready for just yet.

You can thankfully shrink it down by removing installed modes you don’t want to play, or install the whole thing now via Battle.net and other platforms throughout the day.

What’s in the Black Ops 7 Season 1 Reloaded update?

Considering this is a ‘Reloaded’ update, it feels pretty stacked to kick off the new year. Let’s break it down.

Endgame

Endgame is now available for anyone, even if they didn’t finish the Black Ops 7 campaign, and the PvE mode is getting fresh World Events like hunting a Deathclaw from Fallout (more on that in a moment) or taking down a new VTOL target.

There’s also a fresh Skill Track for stealthy players called the Phantom.

Multiplayer

Here for the PvP modes? Good news. There are now fewer than four new maps.

Yakei takes one of the campaign locations, the rooftops of Japan, and turns it into a multiplayer map dripping in neon, while Meltdown and Fringe return from Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6, respectively.

Finally, a new Nuketown variant, Vault Town, leans into the Fallout collab, while there are fresh modes to enjoy, too.

Fallout Crossover

Tied in with Amazon’s Fallout TV show getting its second season, Black Ops 7 will offer skins for the Ghoul, Lucy, and Maximus in his Power Armor.

It’s the second time Call of Duty has added Fallout items, but the first drop that’s tied to the TV show.

The Call of Duty blog says, “The world of Fallout is coming to Call of Duty in the Mid-Season, featuring limited-time content themed around the Wasteland, including the Deathclaw Hunt Endgame World Event, The Ghouls and S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Mayhem in Multiplayer, Project RADS in Zombies, and Power Armor Royale in Call of Duty: Warzone.”

“Plus, earn themed rewards in the Quantum Exchange Event and other Events, deploy to the Vault Town map variant, pick up the Tracer Pack: Fallout Bundle and more alongside our regular Season 01 Reloaded content.”

Okey dokey, then!

Warzone

We can’t forget Warzone, with the High Octane LTM letting players drop in with their chosen loadout, but with juiced-up loot to encourage you to part with it.

You get more cash in-game, and you can spend it anywhere since Buy Stations can be accessed anywhere.

As you’ve probably guessed, there’s a Power Armor Royale mode for the Fallout collab, too, letting you suit up in Power Armor by charging your Fusion Core through looting cores.

Zombies

Zombies is getting a Directed Mode for the Astra Malorum map, while Zarya Cosmodrome is being added as a new Survival map.

You can also swap out the undead for Fallout’s Ghouls and Deathclaws if you’d prefer, with the Project RADS LTM.

New Weapons

There are two new weapons being added to Black Ops 7 with the Season 1 Reloaded update, with the Sturmwolf 45 SMG and Hawker HX Sniper Rifle joining the fray.

Both are joined by fresh attachments and new ways to customize the game’s existing arsenal, too.

Ask The Escapist

Is Black Ops 7 worth it for multiplayer?

This writer has been having a lot of fun with multiplayer since launch, and the addition of fresh modes with Season 1 Reloaded can only be a good thing.

What content is Warzone getting?

While Black Ops 7 gets new modes and maps, Warzone’s update is a little slimmer. Warzone players can still get the new weapons and enjoy some fresh ways to play the Battle Royale, however, like High Octane.
