After being announced at Summer Games Fest 2025, Deadpool VR will bring the Merc with a Mouth to virtual reality for the first time. He’s likely to break a lot more than the fourth wall too. While the ultra-violent superhero is making his presence felt in the MCU, gamers have the opportunity to play as Wade Wilson’s cheeky alter-ego, seeing things through his twisted perspective.
Below, we’ll cover everything you need to know about Deadpool VR, including speculation on when it’s coming out, which VR platforms, price, pre-order details, and much more. While this might not continue on from where the Remember, Deadpool VR is a completely different game from the one that was released in 2013 (from High Moon Studios) and has been developed entirely with virtual reality in mind.

- The Deadpool VR price and pre-order details have yet to be announced.
- The game will be exclusive to Meta Quest 3 VR platforms.
- The trailer gives us our first glimpse of Deadpool VR gameplay.

When could Deadpool VR be released?
There is currently no confirmed Deadpool VR release date. However, the game is scheduled to release in late 2025.That places the release window likely between October and December 2025. This is in line with what we’ve seen from other big Meta exclusives like Batman: Arkham Shadow, which debuted in Q4 2024.
This is presuming the Deadpool VR game isn’t delayed, which would push it back to 2026. The official release date will likely be revealed at some point during the summer of 2025, as Marvel will need to open up the game for pre-orders soon.
Expected Deadpool VR price & pre-orders
The Deadpool VR price hasn’t yet been revealed by Marvel, and pre-orders haven’t yet opened up. However, Meta Store customers can add the game to their wishlist to be first in line when pre-orders become available.
With the game set to release in late 2025, we’d expect pre-orders to be live by the end of summer. Meta VR games typically cost around $59.99; however, this is an estimate until a confirmed price is announced. Batman: Arkham Shadow is available for $49.99, whereas Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR came out at $39.99. This gives us the rough range to work with.
This puts the likely price between $40 and $50. However, you’ll need a Meta Quest 3 or a Meta Quest 3S device to play Deadpool VR. The Meta Quest 3S price starts at $299.99, while the more expensive Meta Quest 3 headset starts at $499.99. We’ll update this guide when the Deadpool VR pre-orders go live, and also include the price and edition contents.
Deadpool VR platforms
Deadpool VR is a Meta Quest 3 (and Meta Quest 3S) exclusive, so it currently is not set to come to other headsets..It’s not the first superhero game in recent memory to be tied to a single system, as we saw similarly with Batman: Arkham Shadow late last year.
At this point, there has been no word on other VR platforms such as PSVR2 or Steam VR. That doesn’t mean that the game won’t ever be released for them, but due to its exclusivity, Deadpool fans may need to invest in a Meta Quest to play the game. As this is a VR game, it won’t be released on ‘flat platforms’ like PS5, Nintendo Switch 1/2, or Xbox consoles.
Deadpool VR trailer & gameplay analysis
The announcement trailer for Deadpool VRr highlights the sardonic tone and ultra-violence that the character’s known for. This time, you control Wilson from a first-person perspective too. In just under 90 seconds, we get a look at what’s going on in Wilson’s brain, with narration provided by Harris perfectly accompanying the brutal actions that you can perform in the game.
Deadpool VR gameplay primarily focuses on first-person shooting with Wilson equipped with his trademarked pistols. We also get a brief look at his katanas, grappling hooks, shotguns, kunai, and grenades. Physicality appears to be a massive part of the title, as you’re able to jump around to out-flank your opposition.
Who is Deadpool?
Deadpool is a popular superhero from the Marvel Comics Universe who made his debut in the 1990s, following Marvel’s desire to create edgier comics aimed at a more mature audience. While Deadpool’s stories are usually more grown-up in terms of their content, they’re designed to make the reader laugh as much as they are to shock and excite.
His alter ego is Wade Wilson (a slant take on Deathstroke’s Slade Wilson alias), a struggling mercenary and mutant who undergoes an experimental procedure to bring out his mutant powers. Sadly, Wade is disfigured during the process, so he dons his red mask and goes on a quest for revenge against the villains who did this to him.
Fortunately for Deadpool, his mutant powers give him the ability to recover from any injury, making him almost indestructible. He also narrates his own stories, addressing the audience directly and frequently breaking the fourth wall. Deadpool is one of the only superheroes who’s aware he’s a Marvel comics character, and revels in it.
He’s often seen as too volatile for the Avengers, but he has a love/hate relationship with the X-Men, whose aid he comes to when they’re in need. But in truth, it’s usually the X-Men bailing him out of trouble.
Ask The Escapist
Neil Patrick Harris of How I Met Your Mother fame will be suiting up as the Deadpool VR voice actor this time around, giving Ryan Reynolds, the actor who plays him in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a break. Harris previously voiced Marvel superhero Spider-Man in Spider-Man: The New Animated Series, later reprising this role for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.
Deadpool VR is being developed by Twisted Pixels and Oculus Studios in a joint partnership under Marvel Games’ banner.
No, Deadpool VR will be a premium product in line with some of the best Meta Quest 3 games, although the exact pricing and release date are yet to be confirmed.
No. Deadpool VR will be rated M / PEGI 18, meaning it’s for mature audiences only.
While Deadpool is a Marvel superhero who hangs out with Spider-Man and the Avengers, all Deadpool media, including comics, movies, and games, are usually intended for adults only.
This is on account of them often depicting scenes of gory violence and the liberal use of overt naughty innuendos by Deadpool himself.
