Genshin Impact redemption codes are one of the simplest ways to pick up free Primogems, Mora, and upgrade materials without spending any money. They’re also time-sensitive by design, which is why active codes, rewards, and expiry windows need to be tracked in one place, with clear copy-paste formatting.

The Escapist recaps
- Genshin Impact is HoYoverse’s open-world action RPG set in Teyvat, built around exploration, team combat, and frequent updates.
- Redemption codes are official promo strings that award free items like Primogems, Mora, and EXP materials.
- Many Genshin Impact codes expire quickly (especially livestream ones), so redeeming them as soon as they drop helps avoid missing out on rewards.

What are Genshin Impact codes?
Genshin Impact codes are official promo strings that grant in-game rewards—Primogems, Mora, EXP items, and more—when redeemed on your account. Most are limited-time, so try to redeem them before they expire.
Genshin Impact Livestream codes
Before each new update, Genshin Impact hosts a Special Program that reveals most of the content arriving in the next update. During these livestream events, HoYoverse presents three different codes that allow players to collect precious rewards, including Primogems. These are only active for 48 hours, so you need to act fast.
Currently, there are no active livestream codes for Genshin Impact. Version 6.5 is expected to be released around April 8, which means the Special Program for that update will probably air about 10 days earlier.
How to redeem Genshin Impact codes
First, the gatekeeper: most redemptions require Adventure Rank 10. If the account is brand new, the system will swat the code away.
Redeem on the official website
The easiest way to activate Genshin Impact codes is through the official redemption page. The flow is very simple: go to the site, enter the code, redeem, then claim rewards from in-game mail.
Redeem in-game
Open the menu → Settings → Account → Redeem Code, then collect the reward from the mail. HoYoverse notes that mail typically expires after 30 days, so don’t let rewards rot in your inbox like forgotten loot.
Do Genshin codes expire?
Most Genshin Impact redemption codes have an expiration date—some are generous, others are basically a timed heist. Special Program (livestream) codes are the most fragile; they’re valid for 48 hours but disappear quickly if not redeemed in time.
For other promo/event codes, the window varies and isn’t always obvious in-game. Even after a code is redeemed successfully, rewards land in in-game mail, and HoYoverse notes that mail typically expires after 30 days, so it’s worth claiming the items sooner rather than letting them rot in the inbox.
Why won’t my Genshin code work?
When a Genshin code redeem attempt fails, it usually comes down to one of the following reasons:
- Expired (especially Special Program codes)
- Already redeemed on that account (most codes are one-use)
- Wrong account/server selected on the redeem page
- Adventure Rank too low (AR10 is the common requirement)
- Extra spaces before/after the code (yes, it matters)
- PlayStation linking issue (User Center not properly set up)
Ask The Escapist
Genshin Impact codes are official promo strings that grant free rewards (Primogems, Mora, EXP items, etc.) when redeemed.
Use the official redemption page, log in, select the correct server or character, paste the code, and redeem. If successful, rewards are sent to your in-game mail. HoYoverse also recommends claiming the mail quickly, as it usually expires after 30 days.
Open the menu, go to Settings → Account → Redeem Code, paste the code, and confirm—then collect rewards from the mailbox. If the redeem site is getting crushed during a big promo, the in-game route can be the calmer escape hatch.
Yes—some stick around, some vanish fast. Even after redemption, rewards arrive via in-game mail, and that mail typically expires after 30 days, so don’t let your loot rot in the inbox.
